Summer Fertilizer and the Importance of Watering

During the summer when temperatures start to reach 80 degrees and above lawn growth will slow down and color will start to fade, your lawn should receive at least one inch of water per week or more when the heat is severe in and there is little rain. You will want to water early in the day to prevent evaporation and fungal growth. Drought stressed lawns are more susceptible to insect infestations and fungal disease and you will start to  notice more signs of wear and tear on your lawn through the summer months, as  they are less able to recover from stress and traffic on them.  June through August is the best time to apply summer fertilizer because they grow steadily through these months and it will protect and strengthen them.  To let us help you get your lawn fertilized and healthy contact us at (330) 454-8525
